The new public meetings

As I sat at my desk yesterday, the events in Nottingham were never far from my mind and I found myself constantly checking around the Internet for the latest news.

What I find really interesting is that the Anglican Communion site limited itself to official announcements and speeches while the Church of England site kept a dignified (?) uninterested (?) disorganised (?) silence.

Rather, the place to go for all the news were the blogs of a small number of people who, from what I can work out, sat in the public galleries at the ACC. Thinking anglicans, CaNN and Titusonenine in particular. Hooked up via a wireless connection in the building, they were reporting events as they happened in all their raw detail.

Fantastic stuff.

Takes on a whole new meaning to the concept of a public meeting. The world is now watching.
